Merch design for Teriberka village (Russia)
Teriberka is a popular Far Northern destination for tourism in European part of Russia. It is located in Murmansk region, next to Norway and Finland. And it is the easiest way to get to the Northern Ocean in this area to see whales and watch the Polar Lights or Aurora Borealis. That gave me an idea for the tagline playing on words:
Teriberka — The Close North
The font was also designed by me specially for this project and has the specific northern shapes.
There are also 2 options for the mural on the walls of an abandoned school just in the center of the village. Actually there is a kind of paradox with a lighthouse in Teriberka: one is an emblem of the place, but in reality it is very difficult to get to.
So I decided to transform the building into a tourist sight.
The first option is based on the local legend about the Dragon of Teriberka. Another one illustrates the phenomenon of polar day and night.
